Humanification of Verification

Pre-conference Insight on the Humanification of Verification

We have all matured past the point of exploiting data for just the monetary gain. Identity verification data always traces back to people, which makes data personal. The stewardship of data is no different than documenting the way we manage every detail about ourselves. That is why we feel violated when our identity data is abused or stolen. Movies are spectacular because the persona of the Actor is just that, an act. It is not who they really are. Why? Because the data behind their lives says something else about them . . . and they are not Superwoman or even the brand of Dwayne Johnson. Somewhere behind that smiling face on Jimmy Fallon they are people with identifiers that state they have reliable sources that give them a sense of reality beyond Hollywood . . . phones, buying habits, addresses, friends, caring and the need to sleep. So even with data, people don’t care about how much you know until they know how much you care. The people at Consumer Identity World (CIW) care and that is why they are gathering.  The Humanification of Verification is maybe just a place to park as a reminder of the purpose behind why we steward the data so intensely.
