TelifiedTM = Telephone Verified
Telified is a new way of examining the quality and currency of your contact data by giving you
direct access to the ultimate source of contact data truth: The Phone Company Billing Database.
TelifiedTM uses Telephone Company Billing Data to:
- Confirm the name, address and phone number supplied in on-line orders is really valid
- Verify that the contact information on record for a customer has not changed and that the customer has
not moved
- Provide an alternative to credit verification for those with a thin credit file or those trying to
establish credit
How TelifiedTM Works
Using TelifiedTM is simple and easy.
- You send us an electronic transmission (XML via HTTPS) of any name, address and phone number (or you
could send us a whole file of names, addresses and phone numbers);
- We figure out which of over 5000 phone companies in the US and Canada own that number;
- We ask the correct phone company to verify that the information you've provided is correct by comparing
it to the actual name and address information to which they send their bill.
This capability is so new, not all phone companies have added this verification capability to their systems. But
as soon as they do, you automatically get access with no changes to your systems.
TelifiedTM can return the following information about the contact data you send it:
- How long that phone number has been assigned to that individual
- If the phone number was valid or bogus
- How much of the contact data you supplied is true, just the number, the address, just the name or all of it
4 different versions
In addition to our standard version of Telified, we’ve created 3 additional versions in order to supply the highest quality
information into various industries with varying legal access and permissible uses.
- Telified-DF ("Disconnect Filter") is available for all permissible uses and covers the widest range
of phone companies. Telified-DF is it not available as a real-time service.
- Telified-NR ("Non Restricted") is also available for all permissible uses and is available as a real-time service as well.
- Telified-LE ("Law Enforcement") is available only for use by law enforcement and officers of the court.

Note: Standard Telified and Telified-LE support verification down to the telephone number subscriber's name and address.
Telified-DF and Telified-NR only support verification that a line is active and dialable.
Our Competitor's Products
There are several ways to verify the information you receive. We know Telified isn't your only option but we
think it's important for you to know how Telified differs from other solutions.
In the last couple years several "out of band" verification providers have created products that send a text
message or make an actual phone call to a telephone number in order to verify that the number supplied is active
and being used by the person initiating the transaction. But there's a problem to this approach. First, these SMS
message or phone calls are slow because they require your systems to interact with a person.
Second, only one piece of information is being verified: the phone number. These approaches offer no ability to
verify that the phone number being used is associated to the name or address on an order or a lead, nor do they
let your systems operate quickly on thousands or millions of orders or leads. If you're trying to prevent fraud,
the more information you can verify and the better the quality of that information the more comfortable you'll
feel with the transaction. It's important to know the truth behind the all the data, not just get a second opinion
on the phone number.
Common Questions
If the phone company can verify the information, why can't they fill in the blanks too? Phone company
billing records are highly restricted in order to protect the privacy of the telephone subscriber and limit
the amount of telemarketing calls a consumer receives. However, PacificEast obtains access to these billing
records for the purpose of providing our customers with the ability to verify the information they have on
file against this ultimate, authoritative source. This data cannot be disclosed, but it can be
confirmed.
Isn't all Telco data the same? Yes and No. While all telco data starts in the same place there are separate
data elements used for directory assistance and printing phone books than those used by the telephone
company itself for billing information. Telephone companies allow subscribers to alter or blank out the
directory assistance and phone book data elements, but the billing information they use is kept pristine and
true. PacificEast accesses all of these different types and qualities of information and uses it to build the
best verification and appending products available but only within the constraints of what is legal and
permissible.
